Writing High Quality Comments to Improve Learner Performance

This course covers narrative assessments and, more specifically, how to write high-quality comments to improve learner performance.

Education scholars are increasingly recognizing that many aspects of trainee performance are not easily quantifiable. Thus, there is growing support for documenting performance with words alongside or instead of numbers.

Narrative assessments can provide specific feedback to help trainees learn, fill gaps in quantitative evaluations, and give competence committees essential context for decisions about trainee achievement. Consequently, narrative assessment is becoming more popular in clinical performance evaluation.
