Understanding the Connection between Race and Social Determinants of Health

This course dissects and subsequently interconnects the social, economic, environmental, educational and healthcare aspects of overall health outcomes, as defined by bias, prejudice, discrimination, racism and anti-racism.

This course meets the GW faculty requirement for implicit bias training. 

Learning Objectives

By the end of this module, participants should be able to: 

1. Describe the impact of bias, prejudice, discrimination, racism, antiracism upon 5 distinct social determinants of health outcomes

2. Explain the relationship between racial inequities and social determinants of heath and the resulting health and healthcare outcomes
