Beyond the Bedside: Traumatic Invalidation and Patient Care
June 8, 2026
Beyond the Bedside: Traumatic Invalidation and Patient Care examines how antisemitism and traumatic invalidation affect the psychological, physiological, and clinical experiences of Jewish patients, and how these harms may be reinforced through everyday interactions, policies, and healthcare culture. This session equips clinicians to recognize and define traumatic invalidation, apply trauma-informed communication strategies that strengthen trust and safety, and critically assess institutional barriers contributing to inequity or invisibility. Through practical, case-based learning, participants will develop actionable plans to promote trauma-informed, culturally responsive care, including policy enhancements and training initiatives that support equitable and inclusive healthcare environments.
