Lesson 3: Community-Engaged Health Services Research

Within this lesson you will be introduced to the what, why and how of Community Engaged Research (CEnR).  An emphasis is placed on how CEnR can enhance health services research and your skills as a scholar in this area.  

Target Audience

This course is designed for healthcare providers including MD, PA, NP, nurses, rehabilitation specialists (OT, PT, SLP), public health professionals, pharmacists as well as researchers. In addition, students and community members who are interested in health services research are able to participate in this course.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Describe community engaged HSR (CEnR).
  • Identify strategies to develop community partnerships to advance CEnR.
  • Describe the significance of integrating community insights into health services research.
  • Incorporate components of cultural humility into your community engagment research practices.
