Health meets Food Conference 2024 Day 2
Health meets Food: The Culinary Medicine Conference is a three-day gathering dedicated to teaching medical professionals and the communities they serve about the important connection between good health and healthy eating. Through a combination of hands-on cooking modules focused on helping transform the clinical experience, culinary skills-building sessions, evidence-based presentations and panel discussions we will explore the themes of this year’s conference.

Learning Objectives
1. To understand the up-to-date Mediterranean diet principles and impact of diet on cardiovascular and metabolic health.
2. Inform audience about various cultural aspects of Mediterranean diet and impact on patients and patrons health and lifestyle.
3. Discuss various diet styles including intermittent fasting and demonstrate understanding of the current evidence around various diets.
4. Outline various culinary skills and the impact on healthiness of a particular recipe including sauteing, steaming, poaching and low temperature grilling.
5. Examine the current state of nutrition science.
6. Understand the impact of how patients provision their kitchens and the impact on health of farm to table boxes, shopping at limited resource stores, WIC items and how to consider limited equipment in eating healthy.
7. Define dietary acculturation and evaluate importance to health and dietary intakes and patterns.
8. Inform audience on topics of the impact of new pathways for foodservice in creating healthy eating patterns.
9. Share the role of pharmaceutical treatments as a critical aid to culinary change for patients with obesity.
10. Explain how artificial intelligence and nutrigenomics may impact treatment and diagnosis.

In accordance with The Standards for Integrity and Independence, GW requires all planners, faculty, and others in control of educational content to disclose the absence or existence of all financial relationships (of any dollar amount) with any ineligible companies within the past 24 months.
