6th Annual Cardiovascular Symposium: Updates in Prevention, Diagnosis, and Management

The purpose of this symposium is to discuss the latest updates in management and preventative care, and to provide a comprehensive overview in prevention,  diagnosis, and management of cardiovascular diseases.
 

Format 

This year's symposium will be offered as a hybrid (in-person and virtual) event. The symposium will be hosted in person at the City View Room on GW's campus and virtually via Zoom (virtual participation instructions will be sent to all registered attendees prior to the symposium). 
 

Health and Safety

All participants who choose to participate in person must be fully vaccinated.
 
  • "Full vaccination" means that either 14 days have passed since receiving the second dose of FDA or WHO authorized (or emergency use authorized) double-dosed vaccines or single-dose vaccine. 
  • "Up to Date" means a person has received all recommended COVID-19 vaccines, including any booster dose(s) when eligible.
All in person participants will be required to wear masks (KN95, N95, or surgical procedure masks) throughout the event. 

Target Audience

This symposium is designed for clinicians involved in multidisciplinary cardiology care, including, but not limited to, cardiologists, internal medicine physicians, nurses, physician assistants and other healthcare professionals.

Learning Objectives

  • Discover which strategy is most helpful to patients with valvular heart disease
  • Incorporate latest guidelines in practice
  • Understand how to recognize and manage shock
  • Recognize the need for defibrillation in patients with heart failure
  • Learn strategies to cope with upcoming healthcare challenges and improve outcomes
  • Utilize latest breakthroughs and advancement in hypertension and lipid management
