Being antiracist extends beyond personal values and knowledge. One must have the perceived capacity (or ability) to act on those values and knowledge. If you are in a program or department that does not support antiracism, it will be that much harder for you to exercise your antiracist views. In this course, we will review the iterative steps involved in changing institutional culture so that antiracism is the norm and standard. In this way, the most historically excluded identities and perspectives are always seen, valued, and considered in program decisions and resource allocations.
