Biography:
Dr. Tobin has been a member of the Mayo Clinic staff since 2015. He is trained in Internal Medicine and Neurology from the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland and completed Fellowship in Multiple Sclerosis at Mayo Clinic. He serves as a consultant in the Department of Neurology, and Associate Professor at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine.
He is the Vice Chair of Practice Operations for Neurology at Mayo Clinic Rochester; Multiple Sclerosis Fellowship Director; a member of the Ask Mayo Expert Neurology Knowledge Content Board; a founding member of the Mayo Clinic Histiocytosis Working Group and a member of the Mayo Clinic Center for MS and Autoimmune Neurology biorepository steering committee.
His specialty areas of interest include multiple sclerosis, neuromyelitis optica, CLIPPERS and histiocytic brain disorders. He is Co-PI on an NIH grant evaluating polygenic risk scores and machine learning MRI analysis to discriminate causes of tumefactive brain lesions, and is Co-investigator on an NIH grant evaluating metabolomics and genetics to improve MS diagnosis and prediction of disease course.
