Biography:
Leigh Frame:
Dr. Leigh Frame earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with Distinction from Mary Baldwin College (now Mary Baldwin University). She is a double graduate of the prestigious Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health where she earned a Master of Health Science in Molecular Microbiology and Immunology and a Doctor of Philosophy in International Health: Human Nutrition.
Dr. Frame brings nutrition and immunity together through clinical, translational research. Dr. Frame’s T-shaped expertise in health, wellness, science, and medicine were developed through her wide-ranging experience in biomedical research (from wet bench to clinical research) and overseeing research and education programs.
She is working to build a GW Integrative Medicine research program while directing the graduate education programs and the Office of Integrative Medicine and Health. Her interests include the role of the microbiome and nutrition in health, the consequences of malnutrition in obesity, vitamin D as an immune modulatory hormone, research ethics, and social media.
Lorenzo Norris:
Dr. Norris currently serves as Chief Wellness Officer for GW and serves as Associate Dean of Student Affairs and Administration at the school of medicine. He is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry and has held a variety of leadership positions including: Director of the GW Survivorship Center Psychiatric Services; and Associate Residency Director for the Department of Psychiatry.
Dr. Norris is board-certified in psychiatry, with a focus on clinician well-being. He received his MD from Case Western Reserve Medical School. He completed his residency at Mount Sinai Hospital and a fellowship at Yale New Haven Hospital. Norris regularly publishes in academic journals and has presented at major educational symposiums. He has guest-edited four issues of Psychiatric Annals. Currently, Norris serves as editor-in-chief of MDedge Psychiatry.
Norris has served as a member of the American Psychiatric Association Council on Psychosomatic Medicine, and the Katzen Cancer Research Center Board of Directors. He is an elected member of the American College of Psychiatry and the Group for the Advancement of Psychiatry, and was the recipient of the Leonard Tow 2011 Humanism in Medicine Award.z
