Strengthening Patient Navigation to Improve Cancer Control Outcomes is a free, self-paced training that explores patient navigation as an evidence-based strategy for improving cancer care for all and advancing comprehensive cancer control goals. Participants will learn how patient navigation aligns with national comprehensive cancer control priorities and discover practical approaches to strengthening navigation efforts across the cancer continuum.

This course provides actionable strategies, planning tools, and resources to help programs assess, expand, and sustain patient navigation initiatives. By the end of the training, participants will be better prepared to integrate patient navigation into cancer control plans and partnerships to improve access to care, reduce barriers, and achieve better cancer outcomes.

The course compliments the GW Oncology Patient Navigator Training: The Fundamentals course which was updated in March of 2025. 

Target Audience

This course is designed for comprehensive cancer control program professionals, coalition members, partners, and volunteers.
