Attendees will explore the pathophysiology, signs and symptoms, and diagnostic criteria of PCOS. The module also details the the role of weight loss in PCOS, particularly as it relates to insulin resistance. In the kitchen, our objectives include the roles of complex carbohydrates and fiber in PCOS management.

Learning Objectives
1. Explain the epidemiology and pathophysiology of PCOS.
2. Identify signs, symptoms, and diagnostic criteria of PCOS.
3. Describe first line PCOS therapy.
4. Consider the significance of mental health when counseling women with PCOS.
5. Apply strategies to discuss PCOS with patients including the role of nutrition as treatment.
6. Clarify the role of weight loss in PCOS particularly as it relates to insulin resistance.
7. Distinguish between the roles of complex carbohydrates and fiber in PCOS management.
8. Recognize the elements of the Mediterranean Diet that facilitate weight loss and identify food sources rich in complex carbohydrates and fiber.
9. Specify daily serving sizes of the Mediterranean Diet food groups.
10. Describe food preparation changes, including food group substitutions, to improve patient adherence to the Mediterranean Diet.
