At the conclusion of the Hematology and Oncology Best Practices course, the successful learner will be able to:

  • Understand both established information and recent clinical advances in immunohematology, bone marrow transplantation, and hematopoietic growth factors
  • Understand both established information and recent clinical advances in coagulopathies, anticoagulant and thrombolytic therapies
  • Understand blood and marrow morphology and hematopathology

Hematologic Malignancies

  • Understand the most recent advances in the pharmacology and toxicology of anti-neoplastic drugs
  • Be familiar with the diagnosis, evaluation, and management of hematologic malignancies

COURSE OVERVIEW

Hematology Sessions:

  • Home Study/Enduring Sessions: Anemias, Porpyrias, Red Cell Enzymes, Clotting and Cellular Morphology (4.00 hours)
  • Live Session 1: Hemoglobinopathies, Hemolytic Anemia, Transfusion Medicine and Platelet Alloimmunization (9.00 hours)
  • Live Session 2: Bleeding Disorders, White Cell Disorders, Bone Marrow Failure and Sickle Cell Disease, TTP, HUS, DIC, HIT, ABO Incompatibility, Hematopoietic Transplantation and Hematologic Complications of Pregnancy (8.75 hours)

Hematologic Malignancies Sessions:

  • Live Session 3: Lymphomas, CLL, ALL, CML, Plasma Cell Disorders, and MGUS (9.25 hours)
  • Live Session 4: AML, Bone Marrow Transplantation, Myeloproliferative Neoplasms and Pharmacology (9.25 hours)

Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for this activity. You can earn an additional 4.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™ for the Hematology enduring activity. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.


Other Healthcare Professionals (Attendance)

All other healthcare professionals who successfully complete the activity will receive a Certificate of Attendance.  Many credentialing bodies such as the ANCC, AANP, and AAPA accept certificates of attendance for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit from organizations accredited by the ACCME.   • Notification of cancellation must be received in writing via hemonc_inquiries@finaww.com. Registrations cannot be cancelled over the telephone.
  • Cancellations received before June 1, 2024 are eligible for a refund of 100%, less a $50 processing fee.
  • Cancellations received between June 1, 2024 and July 31, 2024 are eligible for a refund of 50%, less a $50 processing fee.
  • Tuition is not refundable after August 1, 2024.
  • Substitutions will be accepted only with written authorization from the original registrant.
  • Note: An attendee who does not cancel in writing and does not complete the course is still responsible for payment.
