Learning Objectives At the conclusion of this educational activity, the participant should be able to:
1) Describe characteristics of a large pediatric apheresis center and types of diseases that require TPE
2) List some of the procedure practices (fibrinogen cutoff, RBC prime requirements, replacement fluid selection, calcium repletion).
3) Summarize frequency and type of adverse events noted (venous access, hypotension, single instance of cardiac arrest).
