  • Practice considering the risks and potential harms associated with patient use of alcohol, kratom, tianeptine, cannabis, and 7-hydroxymitragynine (7OH), and identify challenges clinicians face in staying current with established and emerging substances. 
  • Adopt harm reduction principles and communication strategies that support safer use while fostering trust and engagement with patients who continue to use legal substances.  
  • Develop practical, patient-centered approaches to reduce substance-related harms and integrate harm reduction strategies into everyday clinical practice.
